FC Köln knows it has a valuable commodity in attacker Said El Mala.
The talented 19-year-old has been linked to RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Bayern Munich among others. Per Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), the Billy Goats wants more than €40 million for the youngster:
FC Köln want to make Said El Mala their new record sale and are demanding more than €40m. Offers of exactly €40m would not be enough to secure the services of the winger.
Bayern and Brighton have shown interest in El Mala, but neither club is willing to match the asking price and would withdraw from the race if Köln don’t lower their demands.
El Mala has 10 goals and four assists in 29 games across all competitions this season, but this is clearly standoff territory. If Bayern Munich is truly convinced by El Mala, should the Bavarians buck up and get the attacker…or is that price just too cost prohibitive? Tell us what you think in the comments below!
