Any Huskers fans who bet the overs are starting to sweat, but if what you want is a win by any means necessary, then this is off to a fine start for you.
The Huskers bookended the first half with touchdowns on their first and final drives. The opener featured a 14-play drive on which they grinded their way up the field 75 yards with the 14-yard Dylan Raiola-Dane Key connection for the touchdown being the drive’s longest play.
The final score came on another 75-yard campaign, this one on eight plays
including a 22-yard strike to Luke Lindenmeyer and Key drawing a 15-yard PI call before Emmett Johnson burst in from 10 yards out.
The Blackshirts gave up chunk plays at times but stifled the Trojans on their two longest drives holding them to field goals. Jayden Maiava and the nation’s #1 passing attack were held to 57 yards through the air but were able to run with little resistance at times.
Johnson carried 15 times for 76 yards and Raiola completed 10-13 passes for 91 yards.
