Iowa State University has announced its seven-dual home wrestling schedule for the 2026-27 season on Monday, marking the inaugural campaign for head coach Brent Metcalf. The Cyclones will host matches at Hilton Coliseum against Bucknell, Arizona State, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Stanford and Cornell.
The slate is highlighted by its competitive strength, as five of these programs finished in the top 20 at the most recent NCAA Championships, with four placing within the top 15.
While opponents
are confirmed, specific dates and times for the duals, along with the full season schedule, will be released at a later time.
The upcoming home schedule includes several high-profile rivalries, most notably against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Iowa State enters the season with a significant eight-match winning streak against the Sooners, having won every meeting since 2019 to bring their all-time series lead to 58-42-3.
In contrast, the Cyclones face a historic deficit against Oklahoma State, trailing the series 22-65-3 following a loss in their most recent meeting in February 2026.
Recent success defines many of the other upcoming matchups according to the sources. The Cyclones hold a current four-match winning streak over Arizona State, including a 29-14 victory in Tempe in early 2026, which moved their series record to 32-11.
Iowa State also carries momentum against Cornell and Stanford, having won their last two meetings with Cornell at neutral sites and securing a narrow 20-18 win over Stanford in Palo Alto last January.
Additionally, the program remains undefeated against Bucknell with a 3-0 record and maintains a 16-3 series lead over Wyoming.
