The start of conference play for the No. 9 Texas Longhorns means the first official injury report of the season as head coach Steve Sarkisian’s program emerges from a bye week with a road test against
the Florida Gators in Gainesville on Saturday.
Here’s the report for both programs, which includes six players ruled out for the Gators:

For Texas, the most two notable players not listed on the injury report are senior center Cole Hutson, who sat out against Sam Houston with an injury sustained against UTEP, and sophomore defensive tackle Alex January, who hasn’t played since the season opener against Ohio State. Junior cornerback Warren Roberson isn’t listed either after missing the Sam Houston game.
The headline is that redshirt sophomore running back CJ Baxter is likely to miss a second straight game after suffering a hamstring injury on the first play from scrimmage against the Miners, but the most discouraging news is that however favorably junior running back Quintrevion Wisner and sophomore wide receiver Emmett Mosley have been trending, both are still listed as questionable. Like January, Wisner hasn’t played since the matchup against the Buckeyes while Mosley still hasn’t appeared for the Longhorns after his offseason transfer.
The Texas secondary is yet to regain full health after sophomore cornerback Kobe Black (questionable) and redshirt freshman safety Xavier Filsaime both missed the final non-conference game as junior cornerback Manny Muhammad joins the injury report as probable.
