The Forbidden Door swung open into Arena Mexico when Bandido defended the ROH World Championship in CMLL on Friday night (Oct. 3, 2025). Bandido grit through the rematch against Hechicero to keep his gold.
Bandido previously defeated Hechicero to retain the ROH World Championship at Death Before Dishonor. That match was so nice, they did it twice by running it back in CMLL. Despite a different location, the fortunes would remain the same.
Bandido and Hechicero opened with a duel of submission maneuvers. Hechicero gained control on the outside with unsavory tactics. The Alchemist focused heavy on damaging Bandido’s arm. The champ was unable to execute his power offense. The pain didn’t stop Bandido from shimmying his shoulders for a frog splash. Hechicero stuck to his game plan as the match wore on. Bandido failed twice on a gorilla press lift due to his arm giving out. Third time was the charm. Bandido fired up to slam Hechicero down to the mat. The champ followed for a 450 splash, but that wasn’t enough to seal the deal. Hechicero continued attacking the arm with cranking submissions. Even though Bandido was unable to hit the 21 Plex, he showed resilience to outsmart his opponent for a roll-up instead to win.
