Romario has been chatting about Barcelona and Lamine Yamal
and revealed how he’s a big fan of the teenager. The Barcelona and Brazil great was asked who he would choose between Yamal and Vinicius in an interview with Iker Casillas and was happy to make a choice.
“Between Vinicius and Lamine, I’d choose Lamine,” he said.
“I really like Yamal; he’s one of the most talented players of this new generation of youngsters in world football. I’m certain he can have an exceptional career.
“Mainly because he plays
for a great club, his teammates respect him a lot, they know he can make a difference on the pitch, his technique is exceptional, and besides, he knows how to score goals.”
Romario was also asked for his verdict on Hansi Flick’s Barcelona and shared his thoughts.
“After my generation, great teams came and went,” he added.
“The generation of Messi, Suárez, Neymar… and now this Barcelona, technically speaking, I don’t think it’s at the same level as Messi’s or mine, but it has three players who make a big difference: Yamal, and Raphinha. It’s a team that has everything it needs to achieve great victories and win the Champions League.”
Flick has already won La Liga and the Copa del Rey during his time in charge and would love to add a Champions League title. The Catalans return to action in the competition next month against Atletico in the quarter-finals.
