According to a report from Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is ramping up its interest in prized Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn:
Bayern have contacted Kennet Eichhorn’s management and expressed a concrete interest in signing him. Other Bundesliga clubs as well as top international clubs are interested in the 16-year old midfielder. He’s represented by ’11Wins’, the same agency that represents Jamal Musiala and Wisdom Mike, which gives Bayern a direct
line to them.
The competition for Eichhorn will be fierce. RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are expected to be Bayern Munich’s chief domestic rivals for Eichhorn, but — as noted — several Premier League clubs are also likely to get into the bidding.
With a spot in the midfield group opening up due to the impending exit of Leon Goretzka, Bayern Munich will have the roster space and budget space to make this deal happen if it wants to.
How Eichhorn fits into the squad is another question. Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović are expected to eat up the majority of the playing time in the central midfield, with Tom Bischof likely to be the chief competition for minutes.
Would Eichhorn be able to get enough game time to continue his rapid development? That is a question that Bayern Munich will have to consider before deciding to invest — and it is also something that Eichhorn would have to think about as he ponders what the next step in his career path might look like and what exactly he wants out of it.
