There are always potential breakout candidates across the NFL, and that’s not unique to the Los Angeles Rams. What is unique to the Rams is they have a very real chance to compete for a Super Bowl in 2026. In order to succeed they are likely going to need a complete roster to make that happen. They are going to need some players to breakout.
Who will those players be? Will they breakout in a major way or minor way? The variables are ample. Ideally the Rams will find some new leaders on special teams
given how much that unit has struggled the last several seasons. The defense has some new players who have excelled on other teams, but players like Trent McDuffie and Myles Garrett will have to show they can do it in L.A. For the Rams and their offense, they’re likely going to have to keep evolving.
Who will be the new faces to succeed for the Rams? Who will be the familar faces who continue to step-up? Which players will breakout?
The anticipation for 2026 is beyond me.

Rams quietly anticipating breakouts from these 3 young players (ramblinfan)
“The Los Angeles Rams and general manager Les Snead seem to have a knack for knowing where to swing big to infuse new talent and where to allow young players to grow and develop.
That claim might seem at odds with the 2026 offseason. Snead once again prioritized the present with a pair of blockbuster trades. He did so, however, by cannibalizing the Rams’ future in surrendering multiple high-value draft picks. You can’t develop young players you don’t have.
But the Rams are leaning into the growth and development of several key prospects already on the roster. Specifically, they would love to see breakouts from receiver Konata Mumpfield, edge rusher Josaiah Stewart, and return specialist Xavier Smith.
All have shown flashes. How they build on that promise in training camp and beyond could offer a glimpse of L.A.’s future. Watching them mature might just take some patience.“
How a Potential Aaron Donald Return Would Affect the Rams’ Depth Chart (sports.yahoo.com)
“As the Los Angeles Rams get closer to training camp, one of the biggest questions that remains is whether Aaron Donald will return to the team for the 2026 season. Following the Rams trading for edge rusher Myles Garrett, there has been speculation of a potential Donald return. Donald has reportedly been seriously considering coming out of retirement to play with Garrett.
If Donald does opt to return and come out of retirement, the Rams will most certainly figure out the details from a money and roster standpoint. Donald may not be the player that he was, but Shula will find a role that fits the player he is now.“
