One of the A’s top prospects has experienced a setback.
Outfielder Henry Bolte has been steadily working his way up the A’s minor league system, having graduated from Double-A Midland to Triple-A Las Vegas earlier in the season and listed with an 2025 MLB ETA as the A’s No. 6 prospect
by MLB Pipeline. But a late-season big league debut may be less likely now that Bolte is on the IL with a wrist problem according to Bill Moriarity at Athletics Farm.
Pipeline describes Bolte as “a tooled-up athlete who continues to fill out his big 6-foot-3 frame.” The 22-year-old has 65-grade speed and has stolen 122 bases in the minors since his Single-A debut in 2023. Henry has some pop to go with his speed as well, with 55-grade power being his second best attribute according to scouting reports. A second round pick out of Palo Alto High School in 2022, Bolte has slashed .284/.385/.427 with a wRC+ of 121 through 488 plate appearances in Double- and Triple-A in 2025.
Little detail is currently available on Bolte’s injury; hopefully subsequent updates will indicate this is a relatively minor setback. Henry is currently the A’s top-rated outfield prospect, just one slot ahead of this year’s second round pick Devin Taylor.
