A dynamic athlete the Buckeyes have been recruiting for two years now, Ryan Day looks to have zeroed in on his skillset as the desired the quarterback of their 2028 class. News breaking earlier this week of his commitment plans coming this Saturday, Ohio State will soon learn their fate.

and top quarterback per the 247Sports Composite, Vargas has offers from every major program in the country, but his mind looks to be made up just days away from his public announcement. Momentum continues in Ohio State’s favor, and the latest example came on Wednesday when another Crystal Ball prediction was submitted in favor of the Buckeyes for the five-star talent.
Coming by way of national insider Brian Dohn, it’s a solid look as to where Vargas is trending ahead of this weekend. What would give the Buckeyes their fourth commitment in the 2028 cycle, the QB would join the likes of Jett Harrison and Elijah Newman-Hall as elite playmakers on the offensive side of the ball.

His 2027 class loaded with top talent, Larry Johnson has done an incredible job recruiting this current cycle, and looks to do the same in 2028 as well. Already with one in-state product committed in 2028 thanks to Jameer Whyce, the Buckeyes are on to the next one and have plenty of names they’re in good position for.
Seeing good news on Wednesday, Ohio State made the latest top schools list for Maryland native, Tyzon Swann when his recent update was shared via social media. A 6-foot-4, 245 pound defensive lineman, Swann is the No. ten player nationally and second best at his position per the 247Sports Composite. Holding 50 offers to his name and rightfully so, cutting his top suitors to just nine shows he’s motivated to get closer to a final decision.
Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Maryland, Oklahoma, UCLA, USC, and of course Ohio State still in the mix, the Buckeyes have to like where they stand at least for right now. Johnson being no stranger to success in the DMV, this is the perfect recruitment for him to go after and so far so good.
Plenty of time to go in this one, look for the Buckeyes to keep the pursuit at a premium as back to back classes with these caliber of players would set up Ohio State for ample success in the trenches.
