Andreas Christensen’s future is looking increasingly unclear after he rejected a contract offer from Barcelona.
The Denmark international’s current deal expires at the end of the season but Deco has already admitted the club were willing to offer an extension.
Barcelona have offered Christensen a one-year extension, with the option of another 12 months, at a significantly reduced rate. However, it’s been turned down by the defender, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Christensen is said to still want to stay
and has asked his agent to continue talks, but whether an agreement between the two parties can be found remains to be seen.
In the meantime, Christensen will continue his recovery from injury and is hoping to return in the final games of the current campaign.
The center-back has not featured for Barcelona since December after suffering a serious knee injury in training.
Christensen will then enjoy a summer off as Denmark just missed out on qualification to the 2026 World Cup.
