AJ Dybantsa added to his BYU lore with 43 points in BYU’s 91-78 win over Utah Saturday in Provo.
Utah shot a blistering 13-21 (62%) from three to stay within striking distance the majority of the game, but BYU outscored the Utes 48-18 in the paint and rode AJ the entire game.
AJ was efficient in his 43 points, shooting 15-24 from the field, 9-10 from the foul line, and 4-5 from three. Rob Wright scored 21 points and Richie Saunders rounded out the double-figure scorers with 12 points. BYU as a team
shot 53% from the field, 42% from three, and 83% from the foul line. BYU forced only 6 turnovers and allowed the Utes to have their beset three-point shooting game of the season, but the Utes struggled to score in the paint.
BYU moves to 17-2 on the season and awaits their biggest game of the season in two days. BYU welcomes #1 and 20-0 Arizona to the Marriott Center Monday. The Wildcats have won their 7 Big 12 games by an average of 19 points and have one of the most imposing front courts in the country. A win for BYU would give BYU a top-notch win as BYU tries to build a resume to be a top 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
