Illinois lets Duke slip away in disappointing fashion
The Illini had a golden opportunity Saturday and let it get away. Illinois blew a second-half lead and fell to Duke, 31-27, at a sold-out Gies Memorial Stadium. Katin Houser and Collin Dixon connected for three touchdowns, but Illinois managed just three points after halftime.
Nate Sheppard scored the game-winning touchdown for Duke, while missed tackles and mental mistakes proved costly. Illinois is now 1-1 heading into next week’s matchup with
Southern Illinois.

Illini fall to Michigan after Wisconsin draw
After battling No. 14 Wisconsin to a scoreless draw Thursday, Illinois couldn’t keep its unbeaten streak alive Sunday. Michigan handed the Illini a 2-0 loss in Champaign. Illinois is now 3-1-4 overall and 0-1-1 in Big Ten play.

Illinois gets revenge against Marquette
The Illini bounced back from Friday’s loss to Marquette with a five-set victory over the Golden Eagles on Sunday at Huff Hall. Illinois won 3-2, with five players recording double-digit kills.

Illinois women’s golf begins the Badger Invitational Monday in Madison. Volleyball returns Wednesday at Eastern Illinois, while soccer doesn’t play again until Friday at Iowa.

Ayo Dosunmu’s Illinois legacy is getting plenty of attention after the former Illini star was inducted into the Illinois Athletics Hall of Fame. Dosunmu called committing to Illinois the “best decision” of his life and reflected on how his time in Champaign helped change the program’s national profile.
