What is the story about?
Penn State hockey recruit Jaxon Cover was drafted with the 32nd and final pick of the first round by the Ottawa Senators on Friday night:
Cover committed to Penn State in April. He did not start playing ice hockey until he was 13 but quickly developed into a top NHL wing prospect. In his first full season with
the London Knights, he tallied 52 points (20 goals, 32 assists) in 67 games. He is projected to spend one more season in the OHL before joining Penn State in 2027.
The Senators have made the playoffs two straight years after a long rebuild. The team traded captain Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers earlier this week but still have enough talent to be a playoff team moving forward.
Congratulations Jaxon!
