Every year I take a look at who I think will be the top players on Boise State’s football team. With so many unproven players, coming up with this season’s list was a bit tougher than previous years. Roger Carreon
The senior guard enters his final season as a Bronco hoping to finish his career on a positive note. Carreon has received starting snaps since his freshman season and has been a favorite of the coaching staff since stepping foot on campus. The New Mexico native has pro potential and a build that intrigues many pro scouts. Carreon is 6’5” and 310 pounds, the ideal size for a guard that can also slide over and play some tackle if necessary.
If Carreon wants to play at the next level, he has to prove he can stay healthy. He has battled injuries for much of his time in Boise. After an injury-plagued sophomore season, Carreon ranked third on the Boise State team playing a total of 885 snaps. If Carreon can have that kind of durability for a second consecutive season, he is a lock to be an NFL draft pick this spring.
