When Ryan Hampton committed to Kentucky Basketball on June 7, there was growing speculation that the sought-after wing could consider reclassifying into the 2026 class and making his way to Lexington for this upcoming season.
That ultimately remained speculation and never came to fruition, and Hampton made his way back to where it all began: Rockwall-Heath High School in Texas.
The 6-foot-6 wing made a couple of stops throughout his high school journey, at Dynamic Prep in 2024 and DME Academy in 2025,
and is now landing back where he played his freshman year.
He couldn’t have asked for a much better start back at his home high school, dropping 40 points in his first preseason game against Eastern Hills. The 40 points came in some explosive/difficult ways, with a dunk and a ton of super tough buckets.
For Big Blue Nation, now we get to sit back and enjoy the Hampton show as he goes through his senior campaign with the Hawks before making his way to Lexington to officially become a Wildcat.
