The Dallas Cowboys have a particular matter to figure out: RB2.
We know that Javonte Williams is the starting running back for this team, but the matter of who is backing him up is of debate these days. Jaydon Blue presents a different sort of option and weapon for the offense at large, but in a world where Williams was out and someone had to carry the ball something like 16 times in a game, who would that be?
Maybe it is Blue, or perhaps it is someone else. That someone else could be Phil Mafah, or it might
still wind up being the Florida Gator who keeps finding a way in Malik Davis.
According to Brian Schottenheimer, Blue and Mafah are in a very tight battle for that role right now.
The Cowboys will play a different team in an actual game for the first time on Saturday night when they visit the Seattle Seahawks after they scrimmaged against the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week. It would stand to reason that what does (and does not) happen will go a long way in this particular discussion.
For what it’s worth, Blue was listed ahead of Mafah when the Cowboys revealed their first unofficial depth chart earlier this week. They would certainly emphasize the unofficial nature of all of that, though.
Who do you think will win? Or is the true winner someone else?
