Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seahawks fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
There are years, like 2010, when the Seattle Seahawks have thanked the football gods that they resided in the NFC West, however they’ve been few and far between recently.
From the meteoric rise of the Los Angeles Rams to the revival of the San Francisco 49ers, this year’s NFC West
is shaping up to be one of the most difficult divisions in football. Yet, Seahawks fans don’t seem too concerned with the offseason noise.
In our weekly survey of the 12s, a majority predicted that the Seahawks will go 5-1 in the NFC West in 2026. Here are the results.
Only 9% of fans expect perfection from the reigning Super Bowl Champions; most fans are not too far off. A 5-1 record in the division would improve on what the Seahawks did a year ago, when a 4-2 record and several heart attacks against the Rams were enough to clinch the division title.
While I can’t confirm this, I have an inkling that most fans who voted for the 5-1 outcome did so because they have little faith in the 49ers, who are dealing with a gluttony of injuries and struggled mightily against Mike Macdonald-led defenses.
Around 36% of fans appear to be realists and expect their performance from a year ago to carry over, likely dropping a game each to the 49ers and Rams. The Seahawks did land a tough draw playing the Rams two times in three weeks toward the end of the season, which does leave room for doubt, as it’s harder to predict what the Seahawks will look like in December
What jumps out to me more than the records is the fact that 96% of Seahawks fans believe their team will have a positive record in the NFC West, a staggering vote of confidence in the team.
Well, that’s for this week, but don’t let this discussion die here. How do you think the Seahawks will perform in the NFC West? Who might they drop games to? Will the Cardinals stand a chance at pulling off an upset? Let us know in the comments below.
