The Wisconsin Badgers have quite the schedule ahead of them this season, facing six preseason top-20 teams, including the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, and Michigan Wolverines.
Wisconsin gets its first challenge with the Crimson Tide during Week 3 before going on to a daunting conference schedule. The worst stretch comes in October, when Wisconsin faces Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, and Oregon in a stretch of four games.
Interestingly enough, three of those teams will likely
be starting underclassmen at quarterback for the 2025 season, with one announcing their decision this week.
The Buckeyes named redshirt freshman Julian Sayin as their starting quarterback, going forward with the five-star from the 2024 class. Sayin initially had committed to the Crimson Tide, but transferred to Ohio State after his first spring and is now the starter in Columbus.
He had been competing with former four-star Lincoln Kienholz, ultimately winning the job just two weeks before the start of the season.
Sayin will have a strong supporting cast around him, led by star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, as he looks to help the Buckeyes repeat in 2025.
Oregon will likely also go with an underclassman quarterback, as redshirt sophomore Dante Moore is expected to win the starting job, competing with sophomore Austin Novosad.
Additionally, Michigan is expected to go with five-star true freshman Bryce Underwood, with transfer Mikey Keene dealing with an injury in fall camp, limiting him from competing for the starting job.
Nonetheless, Wisconsin has quite a few tough teams on its schedule, facing some of the more talented younger quarterbacks in the country in 2025.
