With the final session of OTAs wrapping up and mandatory minicamp just a week away, the Atlanta Falcons made a move to bolster their offensive line group. The Falcons are trading for Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Wanya Morris, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Morris, 25, started 16 games for Kansas City
since being drafted in the third round back in 2023. He spent the majority of his time at left tackle, but also played several games on the right side. That positional flexibility could make Morris an ideal swing tackle for the future, but his youth and draft pedigree might suggest some latent starting potential.
When pressed into action for 11 starts back in 2024, Morris struggled mightily as a pass blocker and also committed 10 penalties. His run blocking improved in 2025, but his snaps were largely cut. With the Chiefs adding additional tackle depth this offseason, Morris looked like the odd man out.
Atlanta is buying very low on a tackle who had significant potential coming out of Oklahoma back in 2023. We’ll see what offensive line coach Bill Callahan can do with Morris this summer. Atlanta has added a whopping five new offensive tackles to the room heading into training camp, suggesting some major changes are on the horizon.
