Eugenio Suárez returns to T-Mobile Park for the first time since the 2025 playoffs; he’s sure to get a warm welcome from Mariners fans. Hopefully not too warm, though, as the Mariners are looking to continue to build momentum after a series win against the Giants to open this homestand.

Cole Young returns to the back half of the lineup after a successful day out of the three-hole yesterday. Dan Wilson explained the move saying the team is confident Cole can hit from any spot, but also noted
Dom Canzone’s return to the lineup after a day off to rest his hamstring yesterday. I asked Cole if he liked hitting out of the three-hole and he said it really doesn’t matter to him; the only spot in the lineup that actually feels different to him is leadoff. 4:45 PT UPDATE: last minute lineup change: J.P. Crawford is scratched, so Colt Emerson will be playing today despite a scheduled day off. He’ll bat ninth, with everyone else moving up one slot. Today also happens to be his 21st birthday, so happy birthday, Colt! We’ll update with what’s keeping J.P. out when we know more.

Today is an off-day for the minor leagues so Brendan Donovan was here at the park working out and running fielding drills with Perry Hill. Tacoma is off to Reno this week, so Donovan will likely move his rehab assignment to Everett, who are home this week.
