Borussia Dortmund center-back Nico Schlotterbeck has been linked to Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Liverpool in recent months, but BVB is hoping to convince him to stay.
BuLiNews captured the details on a “decisive meeting” between Schlotterbeck and the club will take place no later than mid-March:
According to Sport Bild, a decisive meeting between the player, his agency and the club is scheduled for mid-March.
The entire BVB management will be present, reportedly planning to rely on “emotional persuasion”
rather than just numbers to convince the 26-year-old.
It remains unclear whether Schlotterbeck is leaning towards staying or moving elsewhere. Top clubs like Real Madrid and Liverpool are said to be closely monitoring his situation.
Even if he chooses not to sign an extension, he could remain with the Black and Yellows for another season before leaving on a free transfer in 2027.
Bayern Munich might be out of the running for Schlotterbeck as now, but that does not mean that it would not consider a pursuit if he became available — especially with the club rumored to be shopping Kim Min-jae.
