The Detroit Lions are on their bye week, but I’m sure many of the players will be locked in to “Thursday Night Football” from home. That’s because the Lions face off against the Minnesota Vikings next week, their first game against their NFC North foe. Why not do a little early scouting for a big game out of the bye?
The 3-3 Vikings are in action against the 4-3 Los Angeles Chargers in what should be a pretty darn good matchup.
The Vikings are still holding off on bringing J.J. McCarthy back, leaving
Carson Wentz to keep the boat afloat while he’s out. Wentz has been a mixed bag—completing 95-of-142 passes for 1,072 yards, five touchdowns, but four interceptions and an 89.3 passer rating. In his four starts, the Vikings are 2-2 with wins over the Bengals and Browns, but losses opposite the Steelers and Eagles.
Wentz will have a couple of important pieces back for him this week. Running back Aaron Jones and left tackle Christian Darrison both active this game, the offense could settle down a bit.
The Chargers, meanwhile, have been extremely unpredictable. They’ve lost three of their last four games after starting out 3-0, with wins over the Chiefs and Broncos. It’s hard to know what Chargers team will show up, especially on a short week.
So if you want to do your own early scouting, come join us right here in our live chat. We’ll also be doing a live stream on Twitch and YouTube to watch along with the action.
