A pivotal featherweight matchup is close to being finalized for the UFC’s first big numbered event in the Paramount era.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting
that a bout between Arnold Allen and Jean Silva is targeted for UFC 324, which is expected to take place Jan. 24 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Agreements are in place for the 145-pound fight.
Allen returns to action for the first time in nearly 18 months. “Almighty” most recently competed at UFC 304 in July 2024 where he defeated Giga Chikadze via unanimous decision. The victory snapped a two-fight skid, which included decision losses to Max Holloway and Movsar Evloev.
Silva has become one of the fastest rising stars of the featherweight division since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. “Lord” won his first five bouts inside the octagon, including an incredible finish of Bryce Mitchell at UFC 314 in April.
Silva looks to bounce back from his first promotional loss in his most recent bout against Diego Lopes in the main event of Noche UFC in September.
