It was a heady question to ask, with the Cleveland Guardians winding up the easiest stretch of schedule ever known, and riding it to a seven-game winning streak. But as we did, even as the White Sox lead in the AL Central was getting nibbled by the minnows: Would Chicago hold on and finish tall in the playoff push?
Well, you respondents let us know, in extremes:
It was all-or-nothing with our electorate, but the glasses were a bit fuller than empty, as nearly half of you said the White Sox would win
enough not just to keep the division in hand, but finish ahead of whatever slop comes out of the AL West. Pretty much all of the rest of you, a third in total, think the White Sox are going to fold up and blow away.
