Somehow, after a wildly successful season for Bayern Munich, there is a war brewing in the board room.
While Max Eberl has taken the most direct hits of late, Uli Hoeneß could be in the crosshairs of some others as he was the driving force behind the hiring of Eberl per Sport1 journalist Stefan Kumberger (a captured by @iMiaSanMia):
Uli Hoeneß himself is facing criticism within the supervisory board on the topic of Max Eberl. Ultimately, it was Hoeneß who almost single-handedly appointed Eberl. Should
the latter be dismissed, this would be Hoeneß’ second consecutive ‘mistake’ after he also singlehandedly appointed Oliver Kahn as CEO – at least that’s how some behind the scenes see it
Hoeneß said after the Pokal final regarding Eberl’s future: “I know what people at the club are thinking. So I don’t want to say something I can’t stand by later”
The message is clear: Even if Hoeneß wanted to keep Eberl, he couldn’t do it alone. He isn’t the only one who decides on the supervisory board – even though it often appears that way from the outside.
BFW Commentary
This story gets more wild by the day…or by the report.
The interpersonal dynamics of Bayern Munich’s inner-workings are certainly a case study for some aspiring clinical psychologist. It is a wild scene to say the least.
At a time where the club should be celebrating a great season just before devising a strategy to take the team to the next level — a Champions League title — there is internal strife and bickering per reports.
They don’t call it FC Hollywood for nothin’, folks!
