With HC Todd Monken in the building and already connecting with QB Shedeur Sanders, the Cleveland Browns need to get their coaching staff together quickly. We do not have a final resolution with DC Jim Schwartz, as of Friday morning, but reports have the Browns bringing in George Warhop from the Baltimore Ravens
to run the offensive line, and Monken requesting permission to interview young Ravens assistant Danny Breyer for a role on the offensive side of the ball as well. While many wonder what Cleveland
might do at quarterback, including how Monken’s scheme could impact Sanders, the Browns still need to fill both of their coordinator positions. On the offensive side, Monken is reportedly pulling once again from his Baltimore staff with Travis Switzer:
As noted, Switzer was an offensive lineman for the Akron Zips, from 2011 to 2014, and received a rookie minicamp tryout with the Miami Dolphins in 2015. Switzer joined the Ravens coaching staff in 2017, moving up to run game coordinator for the 2024 season.
Given Switzer’s lack of experience, it is likely that Monken will call plays on offense while, along with Warhop, helping the young coordinator grow into his role.
