Lane Kiffin and the LSU staff are starting to heat up on the 2027 recruiting trail, as the Tigers landed their second commitment of the day. This time, it comes from 3-star running back Brennen Lacey per Sam Spiegelman of Rivals.
Lacey is the type of prospect where you can’t simply look at the recruiting rankings. Instead, look at the offer sheet.
Lacey held offers from Notre Dame, Miami, TCU, Texas Tech, Florida,
and several other major programs. He made his official visit to Baton Rouge this weekend, but this was not his first trip to LSU. The Frisco, Texas native also visited the Tigers during the spring in April.
Lacey is a fast-rising prospect who can do it all. He possesses excellent speed, good size, and tremendous versatility. Standing at 6-foot-1 and 187 pounds, Lacey ran a 10.91-second 100-meter dash as a sophomore and spent time playing wide receiver before transitioning to running back.
His athletic background shows up on film, as he is comfortable catching the football and creating explosive plays in space. Those traits make him an intriguing fit in LSU’s offense moving forward.
This should be only the first running back commitment for the Tigers in the 2027 class, as LSU continues to push hard for Trey Martin, the No. 1 running back in the state of Louisiana.
Who would you like to see be the next prospect to punch their ticket to LSU?
