We’ve heard nothing but good things about Penta in the wake of his loss to Roman Reigns in their world heavyweight championship match in the main event of Monday Night Raw in Mexico City last week. Reigns was fantastic in the match — with William Regal even suggesting folks study his tape from it to learn how to be better at that level — and Penta came away from it looking like a legitimate top level star in WWE. I’m not sure that was the case before it.
I don’t know how WWE is going to follow up
on it, but I’m at least somewhat encouraged that Raw General Manager Adam Pearce made him a focal point of his annual Sunday mini-preview of this week’s upcoming episode of Raw in San Antonio:
Granted, all he says is that we’ll hear from Penta but it’s noteworthy that he’s getting the space no different than the next man to challenge Reigns for his title, at the upcoming Money in the Bank premium live event, LA Knight.
Elsewhere, Pearce revealed Bayley will wrestle Lyra Valkyria in a rematch from their Sunday Night’s Main Event bout that had us all thinking it could be the end of Bayley’s run in WWE. The show will also feature two more Money in the Bank ladder match qualifiers.
