Outlook: The Bulldogs became the latest team to make a splash in the portal, earning a commitment from Madera, CA native Kaelia Ricks. The soon-to-be sophomore DP was an Ohio State Buckeye in 2026, slashing .280/.455/.480 across 25 at-bats, with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs. Ricks’ sister, Lealani, was an All-MEAC player at Howard a year ago, so prowess on the diamond runs in the family. Ricks should be an immediate contributer to the ‘Dogs’ quest to get back above .500 in 2027.
