Jonathan Tah’s signing at Bayern Munich was a long time in the making. Bayern first approach him in 2024 and tried until the end of the summer transfer window to lock the German international down, but
negotiations with then-club Bayer Leverkusen fell apart in the end. A year later, Tah’s contract expired and allowed the Bavarians to pick the former Hamburger SV defender up without negotiating with their Bundesliga rivals.
After waiting so long for the player to arrive, Tah would need a good start. His first few games were shaky but he has since settled in brilliantly, ending 2025 with a confident display at CB and a clean sheet to boot in a 4-0 win over Heidenheim in the Bundesliga. Speaking after the match, Tah spoke of the hectic match but also of his time at the club:
“Heidenheim tried to step up their game in the second half. There were a lot of substitutions, which made things a bit chaotic,” Tah said, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “But we didn’t slow down. I feel extremely comfortable here and settled in very quickly. That’s due to the whole atmosphere at the club, the team, the coach – the entire setup was easy for me to get involved from day one.”
