After weeks of wonder and speculation, there might now be an answer on what has kept Bayern Munich right-back Sacha on the sidelines for over a month now.
According to Tz journalists Mano Bonke and Philipp
Kessler (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Boey has been battling a long-term gastrointestinal illness:
Sacha Boey is sidelined with a rare and long-term gastrointestinal illness. He has also lost weight as a result. Boey’s last appearance for Bayern was in the 3-0 win against Leverkusen on November 1st.
Per Transfermarkt, Boey has missed five games and 38 days through January 13th). Clearly, this ailments has had a massive effect on Boey, who surely has been suffering. Hopefully, Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry do not have as severe of an illness as Boey has been dealing with.
Boey has been linked with a transfer for this month, but this sickness could be a detriment to that happening. Recently, Boey has been linked to West Ham, while Crystal Palace allegedly bailed out of a pursuit. Overall, there has not been much noise on that front in weeks now.
