The Miami Dolphins have started the season 0-2, losing by an average of 18 points each week. Things have been rough for the team, but that was expected this season. The Dolphins are in complete rebuild mode, turning the roster over to younger players trying to adapt to the NFL game, and they are going to have struggles and make mistakes.
Heading into their home opener in Week 3, the Dolphins will host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Chiefs are on the opposite end of their championship window,
looking like a team who can compete for a Super Bowl championship. It does not bode well for the Dolphins in terms of winning or losing this weekend, but this season is about learning and growing as a team, rather than the record.
According to the oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook, the Dolphins are 10.5-point underdogs for today’s game. Even if this game goes off the rails for Miami, how will the fans react? Our weekly SB Nation Reacts fan confidence poll seems to indicate the fans are trusting that, even with losses, the Dolphins are headed in the right direction.

Our poll started during the preseason, giving us a baseline for the year. At that point, 80 percent of the fans said they were feeling positively about the direction of the Dolphins. That dipped to 79 percent as Week 1 started. After the team’s loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, the fan confidence dropped some, coming in at 63 percent for Week 2. Last week, the Dolphins lost to the San Francisco 49ers, but the fan confidence actually ticked up.
As Miami prepares to face the Chiefs, hoping to pull off an upset and prevent back-to-back losses from becoming a true losing streak, our Week 3 fan confidence poll moved up to 65 percent of the fans feeling positively.
