The Missouri Tigers are currently 14-7 overall (4-4 SEC) and are on the wrong side of the NCAA Tournament bubble as the month of February is right around the corner.
In this week’s SBN Reacts survey
— we asked the fanbase what Mizzou’s conference record will be at the end of the regular season and there’s not a whole lot of optimism with this year’s team. The majority believe Mizzou will finish 8-10 (or worse) in the SEC.
After a 90-64 loss on the road to Alabama on Tuesday night, it’s easy to understand
why. Having said that, that game was always going to be difficult to come out with a win.
A win at home on today vs Mississippi State would put Mizzou at 5-4 at the halfway point of conference play — still within striking distance to reach the NCAA Tournament.
The path for Missouri is to win the rest of their home games and steal a couple on the road — perhaps against South Carolina, Mississippi State, or Oklahoma. That’s easier said than done for a team that’s been inconsistent this season.
