Jack Grealish had urged the Everton fanbase to show their support to Everton Women while the Premier League’s Player of the Month for August had expressed his delight at the growth of the women’s game.
The on-loan midfielder also feels that the club’s move to make Goodison Park the home of Brian Sorensen’s side is incredible and could become a real fortress for the team.
As well as a change of residence for the women in Royal Blue, the club this week announced the launch of the ‘Everton Women’s Hall
of Fame’, a new initiative designed to celebrate and honour the players, coaches and pioneers who have shaped the history of the women’s team and game.
Each inductee will be immortalised at Goodison Park, with their images displayed prominently in at the stadium. The first five inductees were just announced earlier this morning.

And with a number of fixtures on the Grand Old Lady’s horizon, Grealish is hoping that as many Blues as possible enter the terraces to the historic arena, a venue he has found tough when playing the Blues as an opposition player.
“I think that women’s football is coming on so much,” he said. “I think since the [England] Women won the Euros, I think especially since then.
“And it is so good to see, I think it’s incredible from Everton that they gave them [Everton Women] Goodison Park because I feel that it is there’s now.
“To go out and perform, I have had many tough games there and know what the atmosphere can be like.
“I think it will be nice for people to go out and support them and get behind them.
“It can be a fortress for them, I think it would be great for them to play there and get as many people there as possible.”
Everton Women’s historic debut season is already underway but there are many games still to be played at Goodison, starting with tonight under the lights against London City Lionesses.
