If you have listened to anything Notre Dame Baseball Coach, Shawn Stiffler, has said over the past few months — there should be a decent amount of optimism running through your veins.
It could be easy to dismiss given the struggles the Irish have had on the baseball diamond over the last few years, but Stiffler believes Notre Dame is ready to compete this year. His fellow ACC coaches don’t quite agree, and they have the Irish predicted to finish 12th in the conference this season.
And yet… we now have a prediction for Notre Dame to make the NCAA Tournament.
D1 Baseball has 10 ACC schools making the tournament this year, and Notre Dame is one of them. They have the Irish going down to Fayettville to play in a regional hosted by the Arkansas Razorbacks with the Irish as the 3 seed behind 2 seed Arizona.
So… as the season gets set to begin, have some hope that the Irish make a return to playing the quality baseball we saw under Link Jarrett.
