A massive turnaround has presented the Seattle Mariners with an opportunity to turn things back around. Their obliteration of the Atlanta Braves now brings to town another typically perennial NL contender struggling through a disappointing campaign. The St. Louis Cardinals have struggled through this season and are vast outsiders to the playoff race, albeit technically still alive. The Mariners will hope to crush those hopes for good while propelling themselves forwards, with a Cards lineup that
has returned a fresh bat from the IL in Alec Burleson but is still missing C/DH Willson Contreras from suspension for another night.

Leo Rivas has earned another start, this time against a righty pitcher, with Cole Young receiving another day down. Similarly, Victor Robles continues to play full-time, as injury and inconsistency have pushed Dominic Canzone and Luke Raley out of full-time reps it seems.
