Mark Pope provided an update on Kam Williams and Trent Noah at the Wildcat Tipoff Luncheon in Louisville on Monday. The head coach said Williams and Noah will return to action “soon.”
Williams is slowly but surely recovering from his follow-up foot procedure, which caused him to miss the summer. Noah experienced some hamstring problems, causing him to miss some time as well.
Pope said, “We’ll get Trent back, and we’ll get Kam back soon.”
With exhibition games starting this week, we may not see the two
juniors on the floor, but the expectation is that they will be ready for the start of the regular season.
Williams will play an important role on this year’s team, so getting him back on the floor for his length, defense, and shooting is essential.
As for Noah, his role is yet to be seen clearly, with him moving into more of a guard/wing role this season, but from adding an epic mustache and seemingly hitting the weight room hard, we can expect a jump from Harlan’s own as he heads into year three.
Obviously, missing any time isn’t ideal, but at least we can anticipate the return of these two pieces and get the ball rolling with the 2026-27 season.
