The Seattle Seahawks’ NFC Championship Game opponent is set.
In the final game of NFL Divisional Round weekend, the Chicago Bears’ magical season came to a crushing end against the Los Angeles Rams. Despite Caleb Williams’ absolutely absurd game-tying touchdown pass to Cole Kmet on 4th down in the closing stages of regulation, the Rams defense came up with a critical interception in overtime to set up Harrison Mevis’ game-winning 42-yard field goal. The Rams survive and advance in a 20-17 classic
to set up the trilogy with the Seahawks.
We know the story by now: Sam Darnold’s four interceptions were costly in Seattle’s 21-19 loss to the Rams in Week 11. It looked like Darnold’s two interceptions would be costly in the Week 16 rematch at Lumen Field, only for Darnold to come back with two touchdown passes and the game-winning two-point conversion in overtime for the 38-37 victory. That result ultimately propelled Seattle to the NFC West title and number one seed, and now a week after conquering the San Francisco 49ers a second time in a matter of weeks, they’ll have to do the same to their other division rivals.
