Missouri continues its exchange with Miami as the Tigers pick up Hurricane transfer Bobby Washington to strengthen its linebacker unit ahead of the 2026 season.
The news broke on Saturday afternoon and
he’s the second linebacker from Miami to commit to Mizzou over the past week. Both the additions come following the departure of Mizzou EDGE Damon Wilson to Miami. Washington joins linebacker Malik Bryant and defensive lineman Donta Simpson and the third Hurricane who will be repping black and gold next season.
Washington, a Miami native, had 14 appearances with the Hurricanes over three seasons — one of which was a redshirt — and he recorded seven total tackles and half a sack.
Washington was a three-star prospect out of high school and chose the Hurricanes over schools like Auburn, Illinois and Indiana. The Miami product did not play in Miami’s 2025 season due to injury and announced he’d be entering the portal on Tuesday.
It’s unknown whether Washington will immediately slot into the starting lineup given other portal additions, but for some players, all it takes is a change of scenery.
With Missouri up to 28 players in its transfer class, it ranks in the Top 25 in the country and continues climbing. Stay up to date on all the latest news with Rock M Nation on our transfer portal tracker.
