The New England Patriots returned to the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium on Wednesday for their first practice leading up to their Week 13 game against the New York Giants. While no injury report
was released by the club due to the game taking place on Monday, we were able to get a glimpse at who was and wasn’t present at the session.
All in all, six players were missing during the brief media window at the start of the session. That group consisted of starting offensive tackles Will Campbell and Morgan Moses, guard Jared Wilson, linebackers Harold Landry and Jahlani Tavai as well as special teams captain Brenden Schooler.
In addition, defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga was present but not participating in the early action.
Four of the seven non-participants were unable to finish Sunday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Campbell suffered a knee injury that has since landed him on injured reserve; Wilson sprained his ankle and is reportedly week-to-week; Schooler also exited because of an ankle issue; Tonga was limited to 12 snaps after hurting his chest.
The other three, meanwhile, also missed practice and/or game time in the past. Moses departed the Bengals game due to an illness, but eventually returned after missing seven snaps; Landry was a limited practice participant last week due to a knee ailment; Tavai did not make the trip to Cincinnati for personal reasons and after the game was showered with support by his teammates.
The Patriots will enjoy a day off on Thanksgiving before returning for two more days of practices on Friday and Saturday. They actually will release their first injury report of the week Thursday, though, even though it will be a projection.
New England will play host to the Giants on Monday Night Football on Dec. 1 at 8:15 p.m. ET.
