Count Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl as a “never say never” kind of guy.
When asked if it was 100% ruled out that Bayern Munich would make another transfer acquisition before the deadline, Eberl left a sliver of room for the possibility of something to happen out of nowhere.
“99%. As long as the transfer window is open I wouldn’t say 100%. If there’ll be a free agent who would be gift, then I wouldn’t be able to take them because I told you 100%? So I’ll keep it at 99%,” Eberl stated
(as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
After a few days of sales, Eberl is likely focused on at least one more of those (Sacha Boey) or maybe even two (Arijon Ibrahimović), but adding a player? That does, indeed, seem like a total longshot.
As Bayern Munich starts its Bundesliga campaign, the squad looks fairly stacked and the recent sales could help the club start to right-size its salary structure and finances for future moves. So, yes, 99% is probably about right.
