The Cleveland Browns may soon have the spotlight to themselves in the city, depending on how the rest of the Cleveland Guardians playoff series against the Chicago White Sox plays out. (And it is not looking good at the moment.)
The Browns are currently sitting at 3-1 on the season thanks to a three-game winning streak, which marks the 30th time they have hit that milestone since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970, according to Chris Easterling at The Beacon Journal.
A win this week against the New York Jets,
no sure thing as the Browns are currently a 1.5-point underdog, according to FanDuel, would put Cleveland’s winning streak at four games and in a position they have rarely found themselves.
According to Easterling, the Browns have only won four consecutive games since times since 1970, although four of those streaks have been in recent years (2023, twice in 2020, and 2009).
What does that all mean? Nothing if the Browns stumble against the Jets. But the last two seasons where they had a four-game winning streak resulted in the playoffs, so it’s nice to dream.
Enough of that, time to get back to reality with today’s edition of the Daily Dawg Chow.
