As most of you know, each year our site sends hundreds, if not thousands, of youth and children to see the Portland Trail Blazers play live and in person at the Moda Center. The vast majority of these participants would never get to see an NBA game up close but for this event. Teachers, counselors, coaches, and other people who work in underserved communities write us and ask whether we might have room for their kids to come. We tell them yes. Bring the kids! Bring the chaperones! Have a night to enjoy
together on us, as a gift to all who come and as a way of giving back to the fandom that has carried many of us through our lifetimes. It’s our way of making good happen in the world out of nothing but a little love and a lot of community joy surrounding the Blazers.
This year’s game is on March 10th as the Blazers host the Charlotte Hornets. This week we’re responding to requests from multiple people who have asked to bring their students. We have an enormous line waiting to see if they’ll be able to go.
Ticket donations typically start slowly, then pick up as time gets near. Well, time is near! The Blazers will close the donations window soon. They can’t reserve those seats forever. Also we can’t send large groups of kids last-minute. We all need a window to make the event work.
That means we’re facing the last days of our donations. The tickets aren’t even close to being sold out yet. At this point, I’m starting to get a little worried. But I’m keeping positive for us and for those kids who are waiting!
If you can, could you PLEASE donate a ticket or two…more if you’re able? Giving is so easy! Just click through to this website that the Blazers have set up! When you purchase tickets through this link, they’re automatically donated to the event! Prices start at $13. Its that inexpensive to change somebody’s life.
Please help out today if you can. There aren’t many tomorrows left for this year’s event and we don’t want to tell anybody that they can’t go.
Thank you so much for your help!
