Transfer deadline day is alive and well as clubs make last-minute moves to secure the strongest squads possible for the upcoming months. For Tottenham, they will have to look elsewhere in the defensive half of the market as Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji is making the move to Inter Milan.
Spurs were said to be interested in the Swiss defender, who was on the outs at City, with Ruben Dias and John Stones fully healthy, and Joško Gvardiol finally settling into a center-back role for the club. But,
according to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City and Inter Milan agreed on a deal for Akanji.
Shifting gears to other defensive options, Spurs will have to do something in the final hours of the summer window before heading into the International Break with a side that will juggle four competitions before the January window opens.
