For those who have been sleeping all month, we’re narrowing down 64 good things in life to one eventual winner, the Best Thing Ever for 2026. We started with a full March Madness style bracket. 32 items have already gone by the wayside. This round we’ll take that down to a Sweet Sixteen.
All you do is look at a pair of posts each day then vote for your favorite among the choices offered in each. It’s not science. The items don’t relate to
each other. They’re just cool. You pick one that’s coolest! That’s it.
This post offers you the choice between Camping and Mob Movies.
Camping is pure Americana. Go with the family to some isolated location. Set up tents. Cook food (badly) around a campfire, sing songs, tell stories, make S’Mores, then sleep all night with a tree root in your back! It’s a bonding experience and an endurance test all at once. But boy, do those morning smell good! Boats, hiking boots, and fishing gear are optional.
But if you don’t want to catch the fishes, maybe you can sleep with them! Mob Movies have been a staple of cinema since the beginning of the medium, but they reached particular prominence in the 1970’s with The Godfather and plenty of other flicks starring Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, and others. Once you’ve seen ‘em, you don’t forget ‘em.
