The best part of NFL Draft weekend is watching the players and their families react to their professional dreams coming true. For many players, being drafted into the NFL is the culmination of over a decade of hard work and dedication. That dream becomes very real with just a single call, and with most prospects surrounded by phone-wielding friends and family, we’re lucky enough to see this emotional moment for the majority of draft picks each year.
That certainly is the case for Detroit Lions’ first-round
pick Blake Miller. Clemson, his former college, shared the video of this moment from Thursday night, as he spoke with Lions general manager Brad Holmes and coach Dan Campbell.
While throughout the video, Miller maintains a cool and calm reaction, you can just see the excitement bubbling in the crowd surrounding him. Finally, as he hangs up the phone, his family surrounds him with a roar of support.
Here’s the video below, and hopefully we’ll see and hear the Lions’ side of the call soon.
