LIEPĀJA, Latvia — BK Liepāja announced Wednesday that the club has signed Oskaloosa native and former Cyclone Eric Mulder to bolster its frontline for the upcoming season.
Mulder brings a reputation for extreme efficiency and rebounding to the Latvian side, having previously led the nation in two-point field goal percentage (78.4 percent) during the 2024-25 season at Purdue Fort Wayne. During that campaign, he averaged 8.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game and recorded double-doubles in three different
contests.
BK Liepāja head coach Gundars Vētra said the team specifically targeted Mulder to add mobility to their interior.
“We were looking for a center who is mobile, with fast enough feet and able to help the team in fast transitions,” Vētra said on an Instagram post. “It was also important to us that he finishes attacks well near the basket and, thanks to his mobility, is effective in ‘pick-and-roll’ situations.”
Vētra added that with Mulder’s signing, the team’s frontline is now “completely finished”.
Mulder’s collegiate track record includes ranking ninth in the nation in two-point percentage (70.7 percent) and 28th in offensive rebounds (3.34 per game) during the 2023-24 season.
Most recently, in the 2025-26 season for Iowa State, he appeared in 20 games off the bench, which included a season-high five points and six rebounds against Grambling State.
In a statement on an Instagram post, Mulder expressed his readiness to begin work with his new teammates in Latvia.
“I am very happy to join the team and grateful for the opportunity given to me,” Mulder said. “I am ready to work hard and help the team achieve its goals. I believe that a successful season awaits us together.”
