The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report of the week on Wednesday in advance of their Week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans.
The Eagles listed two players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Cooper DeJean and Jalen Carter.
DeJean really struggled during the Eagles’ Week 1 win; the Commanders targeted him nine times for seven receptions, 83 yards, and one touchdown. Now we have confirmation that he got banged up during the game. He’s listed with calf/abdomen injuries.
Speaking to reporters after practice, DeJean downplayed concerns about his injury and said he expects to play on Sunday. If that’s the case, he should be back at practice tomorrow. In the event that DeJean can’t play, Michael Carter II could be his replacement at nickel cornerback.
Jalen Carter’s absence comes as a surprise; Eagles reporters did not note that he was missing from the media-attended portion of Wednesday’s practice. He’s listed with with a wrist injury. It’s currently unclear if Carter is in jeopardy of missing Sunday’s game.
The Eagles having to play without both DeJean and Carter sure wouldn’t be ideal.
The Eagles listed one player under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Jonathan Greenard.
Hard to expect that Greenard will be playing until he starts fully participating in practice. Guessing Week 3 might be a more realistic target for him, especially since there’s an extra day leading into that Monday Night Football matchup. In the meantime, he’s ramping up for a return.
