The biggest bombshell of NFL free agency is here, and it’s neither a signing nor a trade — rather, that one isn’t happening.
In a late Tuesday statement, the Raiders announced that the Ravens had backed out of trade that would’ve sent two Baltimore first-round picks to Las Vegas in exchange for star edge rusher Maxx Crosby.
Per multiple reports, including The Athletic’s Diana Russini, Crosby failed his physical on Tuesday.
The nixed trade could have widespread implications. The move had to influence both the Ravens and Raiders’ free agency strategy. Plus, now former Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson becomes a strong candidate to land in Baltimore.
For now, at least, the Steelers’ offensive line won’t have to worry about facing Crosby, one of the league’s top pass rushers, twice a year anymore. But the Ravens do regain their first-round picks in 2026 and 2027.
